In 2020, the November tour of the Cappella Andrea Barca had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. On this tour Sir András Schiff had originally planned to play all six concertos for keyboard by J.S. Bach in 12 European musical centres.
For the same reason, the concert production of W.A. Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” at the Mozart Week in Salzburg has been postponed from 2021 to 2023; both concerts in the Big Festival Hall Salzburg, on January 24th, 2021, were cancelled, and so were the performances “András Schiff and Friends” at the Lucerne Festival, March 24 to 26, 2021, and the Cappella Andrea Barca’s participation at the festival “Omaggio a Palladio” in Vicenza (Italy) from April 28 until May 2, 2021.
Therefore, we look with great anticipation to the planned European tour of the CAB from October 26 to November 6, 2021, the concert production of W.A. Mozart’s “Cosí fan tutte” at the Salzburg Mozart Week in January 2022 and the Festival “Ommaggio a Palladio” in Vicenza (IT) from April 24 to May 2, 2022.
